A symbol of the capital that is located between Villalba Hervás and San José Streets, in the commercial heart of the city. Small and very central, this Square‘s monument to the Chicharro (horse mackerel) pays tribute to the fish from which the ―chicharreros‖ name comes, a name that was used to refer to the people of Santa Cruz when the city was only a simple fishermen‘s port, and when this type of fish was their regular food.
